She's Built!

Our boat went in the water this week in Sweden for systems testing etc. The picture above was of her in the factory. All in all a very exciting week with Jake turning 4. Rae Ann has been very busy getting various elements crossed off the list, coast guard registration, ships station license (MMSI) and insurance quotes. Time now begins to move a little faster than normal as we can say 6 months until we are aboard and so many things to sort out before then....

Congratulations on your beautiful new boat and the thoughtful process you went through to outfit her!I think we saw you with your kids in Elloes in August. We are in the same process for our new boat that will be delivered in May 2009 (no available slot before that date!) and it is good to read the thought processes and thinking of others. We noticed in your profile that you live in Tannay while your home port is Seattle WA. We used to live in Vinzel but now live near Zurich. The Geneva area is beautiful! Have you planned your route yet and when do you plan to take off? We will start in Summer 2009 and plan to spend the winter in the Carribbian Islands before heading to Maine for the summer and then on to South America, the Pacific etc. Who knows, we might see you around! By the way we have good friends from NZ that sailed with 2 kids for over 5 years and really enjoyed that special time. They are about to finish their circumnavigation and the kids will integrate their schools (secondary school) with a lifetime worth of adventure and different cultures in their baggage. We will be following your blog!
Our boat is called Dreamcatcher and will sail under Swiss Flag.
Charles (Swiss) and Marie (from Maine).

Hello Nikita,
My husband and I live in Essex, CT and just returned from our nightly walk down through the marinas, dock and back home again. Your lovely Nikita is snug as a bug in a rug and breathtakingly beautiful!
We immediately went on line to see the details of her interior and came across your blog.
We wish you a safe journey filled with excitment and adventure.
We're also in the planning stages of a trip to the Caribbean leaving, if all goes as planned, in October. Perhaps we'll see you there.
